Strings on a Run
The fourth title from the series of five for the young string ensemble (Grade 3-5)
Scored for 1st, 2nd and 3rd violins, viola, cello and bass.
This idea came to the composer whilst he was out for a run!! The various highs and lows of the running experience is also captured in the peaks and troughs through-out the work. The street pounding is given to both violin 3 and viola from bar 7 and can be heard throughout much of the composition. The closing bar finishes quite suddenly as if to say-"phew!"
